Abstract This Decree of the Ministry of Environment is composed of seven articles and four Annexes. Protected minerals are: (a) the findings of minerals found in the territory of the Slovak Republic and which are listed in Annex 1 Part A; (b) minerals representing the natural elements or chemical compounds mostly with crystal structure occurred as a result of geological processes in the territory of the Slovak Republic and listed in Annex 1 Part B; (c) meteorites found in the territory of the Slovak Republic. Protected fossils are: (a) the findings of fossils found in the territory of the Slovak Republic and listed in Annex 2; b) sufficiently preserved fossils which are the remnants of fossil animals and plants, their fingerprints or traces of their activity in the territory of the Slovak Republic and listed in Annex 3.
