Abstract

This Decree of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of nine articles, lays down detailed measures for the cultivation of genetically modified maize. In particular, the width of the buffer zone separating genetically modified maize from neighboring crops should be at least 600 meters. The producer of genetically modified maize which is resistant to a particular insect or group of insects, must establish the refuge zone where non-genetically modified maize is cultivated. This refuge zone must include at least 20 percent of the crop of genetically modified maize.
