Abstract This Decree establishes the marine pollution control requirements according to Act No. 20/97 approving the Environment Act. It consists of 3 chapters defining the different sectors involved in the environmental protection policy (Chapter I); specifying the control on the pollution originated from hydrocarbon products; (Chapter II); and the powers vested by the maritime authorities and by the Government.
