Abstract

The aim of this Decree is to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases affecting animals and for this purpose this Decree lays down rules for the transportation, treatment and other handling of animal waste from mammals, birds, fish and other aquaculture animals. The Decree shall apply to all establishments that handle waste and that manufacture products from animal waste for example fertilizers and pharmaceutical products. It shall not apply to waste from fish caught in the open seas. The Decree lays down requirements for the safe transportation and the labelling of waste and makes provision with respect to the approval of establishments. It specifies standards for establishments and requires establishments to carry out internal control.
