Abstract

This Decree concerns fishing the in the ICES areas XIV and Va. No fishing is allowed without prior registration of the participating vessel with the Director of Fisheries. The registration shall be valid for 1 year (sect. 2). Vessels which have not participated in fishing in recent years shall be excluded from registration. Registration may also be refused on other grounds for reasons of rational fisheries management. Vessels which do not observe the rules in force for the areas specified may be cancelled from the register. Sections 3 and 4 deal with reporting duties. The Director of Fisheries may stop fishing in the areas if catch quotas are exhausted or for certain other specified reasons. The Director may also issue directions regarding dates of sailing, maximum quotas, notification, and related matters. (8 sections)
