Abstract This Decree amends Decree No. 11.671 on the Renewable Energy Programme of the State of Paraná. Amendments deal with the promotion of the production and consumption of energy from renewable sources, especially biomass, wind and solar, contributing to the sustainable development of the State of Paraná, with priority for regions of lower human development. In addition, it deals with financial issues and specifies new definition of Renewable Energy as the electric, thermal, or contained in liquid and/or gaseous fuel, which originates from the use of organic vegetable waste from agriculture, urban, gastronomy, animal waste and waste from slaughter and its use, human sanitary sewage, as well as the electricity generated from the use of wind power and solar energy, through photovoltaic panels. The Secretariat for Planning and General Coordination (SEPL), is in charge of coordinating the Programme, being authorized to create a Working Group with the participation of representatives to be appointed by the Secretariats of Agriculture and Supply (SEAB), Economy (SEFA), Science, Technology and Higher Education (SETI), the Environmental Institute of Paraná (IAP) and the Paraná Energy Company of Energy (COPEL).
