Abstract This Decree, consisting of 15 articles, regulates the criteria for the inclusion in the General Register of Fishing Activity (RGP) and for the issuing of authorization, permit or license for the exercise of fishing activity. It also establishes that the RGP is the preliminary instrument that enables the person or entity and the fishing vessel to exercise fishing activity in Brazilian waters. Fishing activity in Brazil can only be exercised by individuals (both men and women), business and fishing vessel entered in RGP and holding an authorization, permit or license for the above mentioned activity.
