Abstract This Decree prohibits primordial Atlantic forest exploitation. It consists of 14 articles specifying the conditions of such prohibition in order to protect endangered flora and fauna habitats. Forest exploitation for land use planning is under the competence of the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources.
