Abstract

In order to protect seals - in particular the gray seal - and to assure them an undisturbed habitat, to promote scientific research/monitoring of seal population, and to preserve marine habitats, this Decree addresses a number of areas intended for such conservation (seal sanctuaries) where conservation measures are applied in adherence to article 2 of the Nature Conservation Act (1096/1996).
