Abstract

This Decree applies to ecosystems declared as protected or highly protected by the provisions of the Law No. LIII of 1996 on nature protection. The protection of protected ecosystems must be ensured through the protection of biodiversity, the conservation of the natural proportion of plant species, and the conservation and protection of natural habitats. All harmful activities of production (farming, fishing, forestry activities, water use and waste water disposal) are prohibited in such areas or are subject to authorization. In accordance with the provisions of the Principal Law and of the National Nature Protection Plan, in the interest of protection and conservation of protected flora, a plan must be elaborated. An indemnity is foreseen in case of restrictions of agricultural and forestry production. The inspectorates, within one year after the entry into force of a decree declaring as protected a determinate area, elaborates and maintains a monitoring system of such area.
