This Regulation, consisting of 9 Chapters and 2 Tables, aims to regulate import/export, transport, production, manipulation and use of GMO and their products originated by biotechnology in order to guarantee the protection of environment, biological diversity and human health. It is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I), Import of GMO for Human and Animal consumption (Chap. II), Research and Production (Chaps. III and IV), Export and Transport (Chaps. V and VI), Common prescriptions (Chap. VII), Controls, inspections, sanctions and penalties (Chaps. VIII and IX). The two attached Tables deal with penalties and fines.
