Abstract The aim of this Decree is to lay down further requirements regarding characteristics, crew, equipment, etc. of fishing vessels fishing coastal fishing vessel groups for young Norwegian herring in 2005 pursuant to Decree No. 1509 of 2004 relative to conditions for participation of and approval of vessels fishing in coastal vessel groups for young herring in 2005. In certain cases exemption may be granted from requirements formulated by the present Decree (art. 1). Article 2 specifies characteristics of vessels. They regard gear such as seine, nets, etc. The owner shall have the duty to assist the Regional Fisheries Directorate Office in asserting the fitness of the vessel and shall countersign the approval documents. Article 4 concerns joint fishing.
