Abstract This Decree, composed of four articles, implements article 27 of Law No.10.683 dealing with fishery sustainable management. The Decree compels IBAMA, the Brazilian Institute for Environmental and Renewable natural Resources, to set provisions for the sustainable management of fisheries according to the relevant guidelines defined by the Ministry for Environment. The Decree defines the specific fields for which IBAMA is allowed delegate to the regulation of fishing activities.
