This Decree enters into force on the date of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree, composed of eight articles, rules on the conservation and sustainable use of closed biome ecosystems, with the aim of protecting, conserving, restoring, and granting a sustainable management of closed biome ecosystems, as well as valorizing traditional population. The Decree compels the Ministry for the Environment to promote the supervision and institutional setting for implementing a dedicated Programme for the conservation and sustainable use of closed biome (“Programa Cerrado Sustentável”). Finally, it institutes, within the Ministry for Environment, the National Commission for the Programme “Cerrado Sustentável” – CONACER.
