Abstract

This Decree applies to navigation and to related activities subject to authorization. Authorizations are issued by the Central Inspectorate for Transport on request of the manager of the shipping vessel. Authorizations are valid for five years in general, and their validity may be prolonged. The authority must keep a register of authorizations. This Decree contains the conditions and requisites to be met by the manager, the owner and by the shipping vessel. There are special conditions regarding the authorization of carriage of passengers. Part A of Annex 1 determines the qualifications necessary for maritime navigation and for navigation in inland waters, and Part B of Annex 1 lists qualifications necessary for navigation by ferries, small vessels, and other vessels used for maintenance of channels and other water works, and in general for business activities.
