The last consolidated version of the Decree entered into force on 1 April 2015. Abstract This Decree determines the authorities responsible for the technical aspect of flood protection on local and national level. Flood means not only outflowing of water from watercourses but the high level of groundwater on arable land as well. The minister responsible for water management shall be nominated government commissary for the period of an emergency situation, and he shall coordinate and govern the related works of protection. In case of extreme flood danger, a governmental commission helps the work of the commissary. There are rules regarding the reporting of protection activities and eventual evacuation of people.
