Abstract

This Decree prohibits in principle fishing for and landing of coalfish in 2009 south of 62° N by Norwegian vessels. It specifies, however, a total catch quota of 63.186 tons to be used by Norwegian vessels in the inner waters, territory and EEZ of Norway and the EU zone in ICES areas IV and IIIa. Group quotas for trawl, seine and conventional gear are specified. Trawl includes cod trawl, pelagic trawl and coalfish trawl. Remaining provisions concern a stop on fishing to be decreed by the Director of Fisheries, bycatch, calculation and use of quotas, other directions to be given by the Director of Fisheries and offences.
