Fishing for red fish is prohibited in the territorial waters and inner waters of Svalbard. However, red fish may form part up to a maximum of 20 percent of single catches or landed catch of other fish species as bycatch. Infringement of the rules of this Decree shall be punished in accordance with section 4 of the 1925 Svalbard Act. For purposes of the definition of an offence, under the present Decree, assistance to fishing and attempt to fish shall be considered as fishing.
