Abstract

Importation of aquatic organisms which for use exclusively in closed aquariums is exempted from the prohibition to import freshwater organisms as laid down in section 8 of the Act relative to salmons and freshwater fish. The Director of Nature Conservation may however prohibit the importation of single species destined for aquarium use. Such prohibition may be introduced for species which, if let loose, can develop in Norway and species included in international conventions and which are protected in their natural habitat.
