Abstract This Decree establishes the Energy Programme of Amazonia, with the objective of promoting investments, actions and projects in the Isolated Systems located in the Legal Amazon region. In view of Law No. 9.478 of 6 August 1997, Law No. 10.848 of 15 March 2004, and Law No. 12.111 of 9 December 2009, it aims at performing the following activities: I – reduce the generation of electricity originated from fossil fuels and, consequently, greenhouse gas emissions; II – contribute to the quality and safety of the electricity supply; and III - structurally reduce the expenditures of the Fuel Consumption Account.
