Abstract Based on the provisions of article 90 of the Montenegrin Law on nature protection, this Decision establishes the official Red list of birds. The List consists of 227 species with their endangered status which is indicated among each bird species. This Decision and the List present under article 2 where adopted on the basis of international red lists and other available and relevant scientific data on the effective degree of endangerment, distribution, population size and other characteristics of individual bird species.
