Abstract This Order regulates the keeping of certain kinds of dangerous wild animals. The purpose of the Order is to introduce regulatory controls over dangerous wild animals kept by private individuals in Northern Ireland. It prohibits any person from keeping a dangerous wild animal without a licence granted by the Department of the Environment. it furthermore provides for inspections, the power to seize and to destroy or dispose of animals and places restrictions on transferring ownership of dangerous wild animals.
