For the purposes of paragraph 5(1)(a) of the Act, the research levy imposed by subsection 5(1) of the Dairy Produce Levy (No. 1) Act 1986 is attached to the Corporation. The levy is imposed on the industry in Australia that is concerned with the production, processing, manufacture, distribution and sale (including sale overseas) of milk and shall be calculated on the gross value of production of milk for the purposes of section 32 of the Act.
