Abstract

This Act concerns the production and distribution of milk and dairy products in the territory of Victoria. It establishes and regulates the operation of the Dairy Food Safety Victoria authority, establishes a licensing system for the dairy industry and provides for the implementation of a code of practice and food safety programmes in relation to milk and dairy products. The Act consists of 70 sections and is divided into the following parts: Preliminary (1), Dairy Food Safety Victoria (2), Dairy Industry Licences (3), Food Safety (4), Enforcement and Legal Proceedings (5) and Miscellaneous and Transitional (6).
