Abstract

This Regulation sets out provisions applicable to European Community fishing vessels carrying out fishing activities with bottom gears in the high seas. The aim is the protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems (animals, plants and microorganisms) in the high seas caused by the adverse impacts of such fishing gears. In order to conduct the fishing activities above-mentioned, a special fishing permit is required.
