Abstract

Certain amendments are laid down by this Regulation to Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91 in matter of organic production of agricultural products. Firstly, article 2 giving the definition of “product” is replaced by the text contained in article 1, paragraph 1 hereto. Secondly, article 8(1) is replaced by the text laid down in article 1, paragraph 2 hereto. In accordance with this new provision, any operator who produces, prepares, stores or imports from a third country products with a view to the subsequent marketing, or who places such products on the market, shall: (a) notify this activity to the competent authority of the Member State where the activity is carried out; (b) submit his undertaking to the inspection system referred to in article 9. Paragraphs 3 and 4 of article 1 of this Regulation amends articles 9 and 10 of Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91 as regards the inspection system to be set up by Member States.
