Abstract

This Act requires a person who wishes to export conch to pay to the Veterinary Services Division of the Ministry responsible for agriculture a levy as specified. The Act also provides for assessment of levy in case of doubt and objections against such assessment to the Commissioner of taxes. The Act also establishes the Fisheries Management and Development Fund, the resources of which shall be used to facilitate the sustainable management and development of the fisheries sector. The Fund shall be administered by a Board.
