They, among other things: prescribe the minimum size of agricultural parcel in respect of which a single application can be made; specify the minimum eligible area of a holding in respect of which direct payments may be granted to a farmer; define permanent grassland for purposes of EU legislation; specify short rotation coppice list of planted tree species for purposes of the EU Regulation; defines ecological focus areas for purposes of Article 46(2) of the Regulation; provide with respect to payment entitlements, crop diversification and repayment due from farmers; define offences.
