Abstract

With a view to attaining the objectives pursued by Regulation (EEC) No. 2158/92 in matter of protection of forests against fires, Member States shall collect a set of information on forest fires as per article 1 of the present Regulation. Such set of information shall contain at least the “minimum core of information on forest fires” as set out in Annex I. The common-core data shall thereafter be submitted annually to the Commission. Such essential data refer to details of forest fire outbreaks (for instance, date of first alert, date of first intervention, date on which the fire was extinguished, location of outbreak). Annex II indicates the supporting documents for applications for Community aid under article 2 (1) of this Regulation.
