Abstract

This Decision lays down certain protection measures to be applied in cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry in the territory of a Member State, caused by a highly pathogenic influenza A virus of subtype H5, whether suspected or confirmed. The aim is to prevent the spread of avian influenza into the disease free parts of the Community through movement of poultry, other birds as well as products thereof.
