Abstract: Member States shall ensure that all bovine animals over 30 months of age and subject to “special emergency slaughtering” or slaughtered in accordance with Directive 64/433/EEC are examined by one of the approved rapid tests listed out in Annex IV (A) to Decision 98/272/EC as of January 2001. Paragraphs 2 and 3 of article 1 refer to the examinations to be performed on bovine animals over 30 months of age which, on the one hand, have died on the farm or during transport but have not been slaughter
