This amendment concerns membership of the Council. A person nominated by the New Zealand Local Government Association Incorporated shall be memeber of the Council. The person who held office as a member of the Council pursuant to clause 1 (1) (e) of the Third Schedule to the principal Act shall, unless that person sooner dies or vacates office under clause 1 (3) of that Schedule, continue to hold that office until the expiry of the term for which that person was appointed, and shall be eligible for reappointment.
