Abstract

The Circular implements articles of Order No. 647 and applies to the necessary of particular border inspection for melamine residues and GMO of certain animal-origin foodstuffs imported from Albania, Bangladesh, India, Japan and China (Articles 4-5, 9, 11-14); for GMO of certain animal-origin foodstuffs originating in or consigned from Albania, Bangladesh, India, China (GMO), Mexico, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand and Turkey (articles 4-5, 9, 14, 18-19, 24-25). In accordance with Chapters 11-12 animal foods from Japan and China shall be subject to inspection from melamine prior to import to Denmark. All results must be submitted to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration's laboratory - Department of Chemical and Food Contaminants.
