It also defines the functions of a Paramount Chief. A Paramount Chief is a chief who is not subordinate in jurisdiction to any other chief. Recognition of the election of a Paramount Chief by the Government shall only take place after acceptance of the report on the elections by the Provincial Secretary and the Electoral Commission. The Paramount Chief shall guarantee good government within the Chiefdom and promote custom, traditions and development in the Chiefdom. Full text English
