The Rules concern, among other things: form and procedure of application for a certificate; processing of an application; preparation of the terms of reference of an environmental impact assessment (if required by the Environmental Management Authority); determination of an application by the Authority; establishment of a National Register of Certificates of Environmental Clearance; and transfer of certificates. The Rules also set out standards for the preparation of an environmental impact assessment required under section 35 of the Act.
