Abstract

This Order introduces measures for the prevention of spreading of cattle plague in Jersey and applies provisions of article 8 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956 to cattle plague. Article 8 empowers the Minister to order slaughtering of diseased animals. Other measures include a veterinary enquiry by the Minister, the declaration of an infected place, separation of infected materials and quarantine, removal of animals, and movement or isolation of animals.
