This Regulation shall apply to the management of such extractive waste which results from prospecting, extraction of mineral resources in accordance with the laws and regulations regarding subterranean depths, treatment and storage of mineral resources if the extractive waste is stored at a Category A extractive waste facility (in accordance with Paragraph 16 of this Regulation). This Regulation further provides for criteria for determining the classification of extractive waste facilities; extractive waste management plans; receipt of the permit for the storage of extractive waste; public participation; prevention of accidents and provision of information; construction and management of extractive waste facilities; closure of extractive waste facilities and management thereof after closure; financial guarantees; and transboundary effects.
