Abstract

The Regulation prescribes the procedures for the performance of commercial fishing by natural and legal persons of the Republic of Latvia – in the territorial waters and economic zone waters of the Republic of Latvia, and in the economic zone waters of other states in the Baltic Sea; and foreign natural and legal persons – in the economic zone waters of the Republic of Latvia. Within the meaning of this Regulation for the provision of efficient fishing management a separate area of waters – coastal waters – shall be determined in the territorial waters of the Republic of Latvia where the depth does not exceed 20 metres, except shallow water zones which are located further than 20-metre isobath.
