Subject Energy Keyword Energy conservation/energy production Data collection/reporting Governance Local government Procedural matters Geographical area Europe, Europe and Central Asia, European Union Countries, Northern Europe Abstract These Regulations prescribe the procedures by which the compilation and evaluation of necessary information is performed in order to ensure an optimum balance of energy consumption and demand, the planning and management of the prevention of an energy crisis, as well as the elimination and overcoming of the consequences of a crisis. In order to compile and evaluate the necessary information, the Ministry of Economics shall establish a relevant database - an energy information system. The system shall include information, which is in the competency of local government institutions and characterises energy consumption and demand. The Ministry of Economics shall ensure the operation of the system and co-ordinate the exchange of information with State authorities and local government institutions integrated in the system.
