The Regulation comes into force on 1 May 2004.
Abstract

The Regulation prescribes the veterinary check procedures, which must be complied with upon the introduction into Latvia of animals from third countries. The Regulation does not apply to the control of domestic (pet) animals. More specifically, the Regulation provides requirements for organisation and implementation of a check, including during border control and inspection, and physical checks of the animal by a veterinarian.
