Abstract

The present Ordinance implements the Council Directive 2006/7/EEC concerning the quality of bathing water. The Ordinance applies to surface waters generally used as bathing waters. The Ordinance establishes specific standards, thresholds and approximate values in order to qualify waters. If waters are unsuitable for bathing, an express bathing prohibition will have to be issued with clear indications of the areas to which it applies. Bathing water is unsuitable for bathing if it does not meet one of the microbiological parameters laid down in Annex 1. The present Ordinance consists of 15 articles and 5 Annexes.
