Abstract

This Order amends the Bluetongue Order 2003 in relation with measures to control the outbreak of bluetongue in Wales, including: destruction, burial or disposal of carcases; slaughtering of animals; protection zones and surveillance zones to be declared by the Welsh Ministers in the event of the confirmation of bluetongue; extension or reduction of the size of a control zone; licences for the movement of animals out of a protection zone or surveillance zone; and powers of inspectors in protection and surveillance zones.
