Abstract

This Order amends the Bluetongue Order 2003 in relation with measures to control the outbreak of bluetongue in England, including: (protection zones and surveillance) zones to be declared by the Secretary of State in the event of the confirmation of bluetongue; extension or reduction of the size of a control zone; licences for the movement of animals; and powers of inspectors in protection and surveillance zones. The Secretary of State may declare control, protection or surveillance zones in the event of an outbreak of bluetongue in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
