Abstract This Order sets out the National Bovine Tuberculosis Pest Management Strategy. Mycobacterium bovis, the organism which causes the disease of bovine tuberculosis, is the pest to be managed in accordance with the strategy. The strategy provides for the surveillance of herds, the testing of cattle and deer for bovine tuberculosis, and, where tests are positive, the slaughter of cattle and deer with bovine tuberculosis, the control of movement of cattle and deer, and vector control activities.
