Abstract

This Order introduces measures for the prevention of spreading of American foul brood, European foul brood or Varroasis affecting bees in Jersey. An owner or person in charge of any hive shall notify the Minister of (suspected) presence of such diseases in a hive and shall not remove specified material from premises before inspection. An Inspector may take specified precautions against spread of infection by a bee disease and after examination showing presence of a disease, the Minister may impose certain restrictions on operations concerning bees or bee-related products.
