They require the Environment Agency to establish a suitable monitoring programme and to assess bathing water quality data. The Regulations also, among other things, require the Agency, sewerage undertakers and local authorities and other persons that control bathing waters to take certain management measures in relation with bathing waters which are subject to pollution.
