Abstract The present Ordinance implements the Water Law of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern of 30 November 1992. The specific purpose of the Ordinance is to transpose into German law the Directive 2006/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the management of bathing water quality of 15 February 2006. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the monitoring and classification of bathing water quality, the management of bathing water quality and the information of the public on bathing water quality.
