Abstract

The Act provides for the control of diseases affecting animals in Barbados by prescribing measures regarding, among other things, notification of diseases, segregation of suspected animals, marking of infected places, declaration of infected places, slaughter of suspected animals, etc., and the importation of birds and other animals. The Senior Veterinary Officer may grant licences to import animals under section 15. The Minister may appoint quarantine depots under section 16. Imported animals shall be quarantined in accordance with section 17.
