Abstract These Regulations revoke and re-enact, with amendments, the Animals and Animal products (Import and Export) Regulations 1995. They introduce new provisions for exports relating to approved collection centres (as defined in article 2 of Council Directive 64/432/EC), in the case of cattle or pigs, markets and assembly centres in the case of other animals (reg. 5). Furthermore, they contain a new provision requiring slaughtering without undue delay of animals imported for slaughter and implement a list of EC measures (in the Schedules).
