The present Ordinance enters into force on 1 January 2010.
Abstract

The present Ordinance implements the Animal Protection Act of 23 September 2010. The Ordinance governs the handling of vertebrates, cephalopods and crayfish, their keeping and use and intervention on them. The text consists of 221 articles divided into 12 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Animal keeping and handling of animals (II); Domestic animals (III); Wild fauna (IV); Professional handling of animals (V); Animal testing, genetically modified animals (VI); Animal transports (VII); Killing and slaughtering of animals (VIII); Formation, training and vocational training of animal keeping (IX); Administrative tasks and execution (X); Animal Welfare Officer (IX); Transitional and final provisions (XII). Five Annexes are enclosed.
